Ranks
Tribal Chief: The ultimate ruler of the tribe, a male lion. He controls the entirety of the tribe, the only one who has mating rights with his females, and patrols his territory. He also kicks out his sons once they come of age. He also defends the tribe. He will instantly kill cubs he didn't sire, and will chase and kill nomad males. He also keeps the lionesses in line.
Chief: This rank is second in command, also a male lion. He helped the Tribal Chief takeover the tribe, and he has the same rights. Though he doesn't have the final say in the tribe. He also has mating rights with the females. He also helps patrol, control, and defend the tribe.
Subjected Lionesses: This is the majority and the core of the tribe. They hunt, produce cubs and defend their offspring from threats. They are controlled by the Tribal Chief, but they call the shots when in estrus. They may be in heat but they decide when they want to mate. They don't have a say in the tribe.
Maternal Chief: This is the oldest most experienced lioness within the tribe. She has raised many litters, and has the most experience when it comes to hunting. She may give advice to the Tribal Chief and Chief, but other than that has no say in the tribe. She also helps guide the Subjected Lionesses.
Developing Lions: These are the adolescents in the tribe. They watch and sometimes help on hunts, and perform small tasks given to them by the older lionesses to keep busy. The males in this stage will soon be chased out by the Tribal Chief and Chief, for they won't allow any mature males in their tribe. No mature males, equal no competition. The females on the other hand, learn their place in the tribe, and how tribe life goes.
Cubs: The little ones of the tribe. Their only job is to eat, play, and stay healthy. There is a lot of dangers for cubs, especially nomad males.
Nomad males: These are males who have been kicked out of their birth tribe and roam Najah, looking for a tribe to takeover to become new Chiefs. They will kill young cubs that aren't theirs, and will always challenge Tribal Chiefs. They usually ignore scent boundaries. Once a nomad male takes over a tribe, he'll kill all the cubs sired by the previous Chiefs. These lions cause nothing but trouble.
Drifters: Drifters are lone females who have been separated from their pride, and they are looking for a pride to join. They aren't that big of a threat to cubs or prides.

Diet

Customs
Integration Ceremony: When a lioness reaches two years of age, a ceremony will be held as they become a full member of the tribe. The Maternal Chief will rub herself on the new Subjected Female, as a sign of her acceptance, also known as scent sharing. The Chiefs may also be present as well. Shortly after, the lionesses will go on a hunt to take down large prey, then feast.
The Day of Exile: When a nomad male chases off or kills the current Tribal Chief and becomes the new Tribal Chief, this is a day known as, The Day of Exile. Once the new Tribal Chief kills all the cubs and sires his own, he will be fully integrated into the tribe. Once this happens, the old Tribal Chief will be officially banished, and if he tries to return, the lionesses and new Chiefs will chase him off. A defeated Chief is seen as a weak lion, and lionesses need strong blood to lead them.
The Day of Banishment: Once a male in the Tribe comes of age, the Chiefs will chase him out, or kill him if he doesn't leave. This is known as The Day of Banishment. None of the lionesses will save their sons from this fate as this is tradition, even if the juvenile males disapprove. This day can happen at any time once a juvenile male starts to show a beginnings of a mane. Once the juvenile males are chased out or killed, the lionesses will not speak of the newly banished males for three days, to show the approval of the Chiefs' decision.
Introduction to The Tribe: A female will move away from the tribe to give birth and keep her cubs there until they're ready to join the tribe. When a female moves her cubs to the tribe this is known as, Introduction to The Tribe. At a watchful yet safe distance the mother will watch as the cubs will greet their father, the Tribal Chief. If the Chief tolerates them in his presence for at least 3 minutes, they are accepted as full members of the tribe. After the chief will growl and swat at them with his claws sheathed to warn them off.
